If you’re looking for privacy and minimal restrictions, but don’t want to go completely off the grid, this is a great property. Almost a half acre to work with and power lines just 150 ft from the property line. The lot is level to make building easy and is just 4 minutes from the highway. At the exit is a convenience store with a Starbucks and Holbrook is only 10 minutes away.
Holbrook AZ is a town of about 5000 people, rich with history. The Holbrook area was inhabited first by the Anasazi, then Puebloans, then the Navajo and Apache. In 1540, Coronado searched for the Seven Cities of Cibola and camped some sixty miles east of Holbrook. Coronado sent an expedition west to find the Colorado River, and they crossed the Little Colorado about twenty-five miles east of Holbrook and found a wonderland of colors they named “El Desierto Pintada” – The Painted Desert.
The Petrified Forest National Park is just east of this area and features some excellent hiking. There are numerous popular trails including the Blue Mesa Trail, Painted Desert Rim Trail, Devilโs Playground Loop, and many others. If youโd like to drive a little further, the Grand Canyon is only 3 hours to the northwest, the iconic Oljato-Monument Valley is about 3 hours north, and the Homolovi Ruins are just an hour west.
